Saudi beauty entrepreneur and content creator Abeer Sinder has called on citizens to maintain their daily routines and dismiss online rumours following a series of cross-border attacks targeting the Kingdom's airports.
The statement comes after Yemen’s Houthi militia intensified drone and missile strikes against Saudi aviation infrastructure. A strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Oct. 10 killed 13 people and wounded more than 300 others.
Addressing followers on Instagram who had questioned her silence regarding the security crisis, the haircare entrepreneur stated that daily life across the country continues uninterrupted. “Simply because I don’t feel that my life is in crisis. I am living my day normally, and I see life around me continuing, and that in itself is a blessing I thank God for,” Sinder wrote.
Sinder emphasised that the public's confidence in Saudi Arabia’s leadership and security forces outweighs any external threat, warning that the nation's calm should not be interpreted as negligence. She advised residents to follow official instructions while disregarding exaggerations and automated accounts on social media.
“Saudis, raise your heads high, live your lives and enjoy them, and take your news from official sources. You are in a homeland that honors you and preserves your dignity, and you have every right to be happy and feel reassured in it,” she wrote.
Other Saudi public figures have echoed similar sentiments in recent days. Beauty entrepreneur Yara Al-Namlah stated that “Our homeland runs through our veins,” while fashion designer Alanoud Badr described the Kingdom as a solid nation that cannot be defeated by crises or divided by falsehoods.
Sinder launched her online hair products boutique, SNDR, in 2018. In 2023, she was featured in an International Women’s Day campaign for MAC Cosmetics alongside several other Saudi creative figures.
