The US president expressed displeasure with the Yemeni movement after a weekend barrage against Riyadh’s airport left 13 dead, while stopping short of announcing formal action.

US President Donald Trump reprimanded Yemen’s Houthi movement on Monday as aerial bombardments against Saudi Arabia intensified, declining to specify what retaliatory steps Washington might take.

Addressing journalists while departing the White House for Ohio, the American leader was asked how his administration planned to handle the group.

“Well, the Houthis are misbehaving very badly. No good,” Trump said.

The remarks came after a wave of cross-border drone and missile barrages against the kingdom, notably an assault on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that claimed at least 13 lives and injured more than 300 people over the weekend.

In response to the fatal destruction, authorities in Saudi Arabia prolonged the shutdown of the capital's airport until Saturday. On Saturday, Trump had indicated that Washington was weighing armed action against the Yemeni faction following the strike.
