In Group B, Mexico bounced back from their opening-day loss to Australia with a dominant 10-0 win over Singapore in just four innings at Eduardo Porras Stadium. David Díaz wasted no time, launching a line-drive homer on the third pitch of the game. Emiliano Solorio then blew it open with a first-inning grand slam as Mexico plated six runs to seize control. The pitching was just as ruthless. José Contreras struck out six, Ángel Valerio fanned all three batters he faced in one inning of relief to earn the win, and Guillermo Valerio added two more Ks. The trio combined for 11 strikeouts and allowed just one hit — an opposite-field single by Singapore catcher Karthikaiyan Raj in the second. Yi Wang took the loss for Singapore.
