The pitching was just as ruthless. José Contreras struck out six, Ángel Valerio fanned all three batters he faced in one inning of relief to earn the win, and Guillermo Valerio added two more Ks. The trio combined for 11 strikeouts and allowed just one hit — an opposite-field single by Singapore catcher Karthikaiyan Raj in the second. Yi Wang took the loss for Singapore.
