Pakistan not getting same relief from China in bilateral trade as it is getting from other Asian countries: says President PCJCCI SM Naveed
LAHORE February 28 ( News Inspection) Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) president S.M. Naveed Sunday categorically said that Pakistan is not getting the same relief from China in bilateral trade as it is getting from other Asian countries, if trade deficit between the two countries is not reduced in time, it will be a big problem for Pakistan in future.
In an exclusive interview, S.M. Naveed said that Pakistan was getting less relief from China in bilateral trade than ASEAN countries and he would bring this issue on the agenda in the next meeting. He hoped that positive progress would be made in this regard soon.
Referring to the tariffs set by China; he said that China has not reduced the tariffs on Pakistani goods and urged the government to work with China to resolve this issue too.
SM Naveed further said that if China only reduced the duty on our textiles then textile production in Pakistan could increase. “We want to start projects that will increase our exports,” he said.
He said that in order to reduce poverty in the country, we should immediately pay special attention to the corporate farming sector. “It is gratifying that Prime Minister Imran Khan is paying special attention to this sector,” he added.
He said that the more countries invest in CPAC, the more foreign exchange will come to the country and unemployment will come down significantly.
He added that there is no shortage of skilled workers in the country and as compare to China where labor is up to 900 US dollars, our labor is much cheaper which is around US $ 150 to US $ 270.
